PRS - About us
PRS was originally established by David Knowles in September 1989.  David already had 18 years experience in construction recruitment after serving for 3 years in the Royal Marines and 5 years Royal Air Force followed by 8 years with Taylor Woodrow International as their Recruitment Officer based in West London and then as a Director for 10 years with two recruitment firms in Hertfordshire.
Whilst 1989 to 1991 witnessed Britain in recession, PRS survived the UK downturn in construction demand by having strong overseas links which helped the Company to expand.  In 1997 PRS was nearly acquired by a major international recruitment Plc.  At the last moment, the Board, still led by David Knowles, decided to stay independent and from 1998 to 2007 PRS continued  to successfully conclude confidential search assignments for medium to large contractors, energy suppliers, engineering firms and joint venture project consortiums both in the UK and overseas, particularly where construction activity was buoyant.
In 2007 PRS was finally acquired by a large integrated multi disciplined recruitment group.  The owners, sensing a never ending boom, wanted to access the construction industry, exploit PRS’ international contacts and offer a group wide management recruitment capability, all of which PRS was well equipped to provide, especially in construction.   2008, at least for most of the year, experienced fast growth, PRS opening a new branch in Dubai with further offices intended elsewhere overseas.  However, by early 2009 the recession had arrived and whilst PRS remained profitable, the parent group struggled and in 2010 David Knowles regained majority control again and demerged PRS.

Since becoming independent again PRS has retained the core team originally in place before the takeover in 2007 and has continued to help clients fill their key management positions in the UK and overseas by, as always, delivering  the essentials – an honest, critical and experience based appraisal of the client’s expectations at the outset, thorough and robust search methodologies, in depth interviewing, reference checking and finally, a never say die approach to successfully filling every vacancy in a timely and cost effective manner.
We have always stayed small allowing strong relationships to build with our clients on a one to one basis.  Done well recruitment is not easy and trust is essential.
